I went off blogging

ALLSAINTS Char Jumper | MARKS AND SPENCERS Joggers | SENSO Shoes available at olwenstore.com

Wow it's been about a year since I last posted, I didn't mean to abandon blogging entirely but I just went off it.
There are so many people out there these days trying to make a blog/lifestyle I think it just put me off... It's so hard to keep up with what everyone is doing.
I have stood back and realised that it doesn't matter what other people are doing... I'm doing a completely different thing.

So on this blog it is now going to be following what i'm doing, what I like and how my brand is progressing.
I have am a lot more into outfit posts (finally) and I have quite enjoyed doing them! Olwen has some amazing pieces right now and I have taken the time to use my own styling tips to bring you some 'Sports Luxe' ideas that hopefully you can take away and try!

I am also on a mission to lose about a stone before the summer... who's with me? (Constant life struggle)

Christmas Wonders

I have absolutely neglected the blog over the last few months but I am back and raring to go!
I have had a rough few months and lost my way a little but I have turned myself around and going to continue on with the blog and photography.

Christmas this year was amazing, and I couldn't have spent it with more amazing people.
Here are a few pictures from the festive season from my point of view!

What did everyone get for Christmas?

 Trying on the boyfriends slippers!

All ready and wrapped for Christmas!

I was completely spoilt!

Got out the Alexander Wang for an ice skating trip!

Everything Is So Black & White Shoot: MARYBETH

Had an amazing photoshoot recently with MaryBeth. She is an amazing model and we had such a great shoot. We went into this trying to create a gothic/dark version of vintage fashion with a modern day twist. Stylist Rachel Hannah has a wardrobe full of amazing pieces, and each of these garments were taken from her collection. Here is a preview of the shoot. More images are at the website www.carlaanne.co.uk
The make up was even done by myself! (And I am no MUA)
Hope you all enjoy them as much as I do!

Feel free to leave comments and let me know which images you love or don't love!
ReLoved's website will up soon so I will definitely be sharing it with you all.

Preview

On Monday I had my most recent photoshoot with ReLoved Clothing and it was one of the most fun shoots I have had in a while. One of my best friends modelled for us, someone who should have always been a model.

The clothing was absolutely amazing, and there were some items that I could easily have run off with. ReLoved is currently in the process of setting up a website to sell online but until then you can find all of the promotions and clothing at ReLoved.
You will also be able to find them at various vintage fairs over the next few months! All information on the Facebook page!

So here is  a sneak peak of only one of the looks that was shot, as the others will be released ready to sell the new stock in the next few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled because all images will be posted here first!

Also, please check out my Facebook page while I am working on my website! You can find it here at Carla Anne Photography!

Today was shoot day

'Today we shot for Reloved, ready for the Autumn/Winter 14 collection of Vintage clothing.
There were some amazing pieces to shoot and as the brand is growing, the chances of the pieces being sold before launching the shoot are really high!

We had some amazing colour palettes to work with and an amazing location.
Just 5 minutes away are some beautiful reservoirs, forestries and countryside that we are lucky enough to use however we want, whenever we need to. It is an amazing space to escape or even to relax when needed. Each place that we used complimented the garments so well and really made it an exciting shoot, as well as the amazing team I had the pleasure to work with!

I'm excited to share with you a few snapshots from the day as well as the amazing location!
This is the first of many shoots to come over the next few weeks/months and I am so happy to have some amazing people to work with.

Preparation

So next Monday I am excited to announce, will be the first of many shoots to come over the next few months. I am happy to be connecting with new faces in the industry all the time, especially the continued collaboration with vintage clothing brand, Re-loved.

Over the past year I have worked closely with Rachel Hannah to photograph events and look-books, and now, as she is taking the next steps with the company, we will be working on the next set of Autumn/Winter 2014 photographs for her soon to be launched website.

I am happy to share with you all a few from the start of the year, that didn't appear in the black and white edit from a previous post.

Re Loved updates can be found here.

More to come soon!

Countryside Monochrome

So today I was meant to be shooting a vintage fashion shoot but it all fell through, so it has now been postponed until next week. Instead, my brother and I went up to the lakes, so I could get one of my photography modules completed and I couldn't resist having a few cheeky outfit shots, seeing as I had actually thought about my outfit.

Jacket - My own creation       Basketball Top - My own creation       Jeans - Allsaints          Shoes - Primark

Outfit posts aren't something I have always been comfortable with however I am starting to get into it. The images were taken by my little brother, and are actually very good considering he never holds a camera! Luckily a few minutes after we got into the car, it started to rain very heavily! So our timing was perfect.

I am also showing off my amazing new shoes that I bought a few days ago on a shopping trip. They are from Primark and are my first purchase from there in years! But for £8 I could't leave them and they are so comfortable. Who says you can't get good items for cheap?!

Throwback Thursday - University Research

WGSN Research

Colour Research

Vintage Lingerie

Today I thought I'd share with you some of the most inspiring pages from my university sketchbooks. As much as I love blogging about fashion and style, I have a deeper love for research and artistic inspiration, so I hope you will enjoy this as much as I do!

Many of the above images were for a project that I called 'Alter Ego'. The research was based around deformations in the body and how people have perceived the human body through art and design.
Early inspiration for this project came from life drawing classes while I was in school.
As much as I enjoyed the drawing I would always think of other artistic ways to interpret what I saw.

As a fashion design student, I took on the challenge of manipulating the human body, using this research, to create something completely different, complimenting problems that occur in the human body, to many of the planets population. It has always been something that fascinates me.

Other pages came as styling and colour ideas. The vintage underwear and 90's styling is something that ran through a lot of my research. It gave the completely strange ideas I had, some grounding, made them seem a little more realistic.

Some of the images are also taken from the WGSN website, which I was absolutely addicted too while I was at university. They always had really quirky explanations and imagery for where their inspiration came from. This is what inspired me to dig a little deeper when looking for content for my research.

How many of you are inspired by the weird and wonderful?
Let me know your inspirations :)
