Preparation

So next Monday I am excited to announce, will be the first of many shoots to come over the next few months. I am happy to be connecting with new faces in the industry all the time, especially the continued collaboration with vintage clothing brand, Re-loved.

Over the past year I have worked closely with Rachel Hannah to photograph events and look-books, and now, as she is taking the next steps with the company, we will be working on the next set of Autumn/Winter 2014 photographs for her soon to be launched website.

I am happy to share with you all a few from the start of the year, that didn't appear in the black and white edit from a previous post.

Re Loved updates can be found here.

More to come soon!

Countryside Monochrome

So today I was meant to be shooting a vintage fashion shoot but it all fell through, so it has now been postponed until next week. Instead, my brother and I went up to the lakes, so I could get one of my photography modules completed and I couldn't resist having a few cheeky outfit shots, seeing as I had actually thought about my outfit.

Jacket - My own creation       Basketball Top - My own creation       Jeans - Allsaints          Shoes - Primark

Outfit posts aren't something I have always been comfortable with however I am starting to get into it. The images were taken by my little brother, and are actually very good considering he never holds a camera! Luckily a few minutes after we got into the car, it started to rain very heavily! So our timing was perfect.

I am also showing off my amazing new shoes that I bought a few days ago on a shopping trip. They are from Primark and are my first purchase from there in years! But for £8 I could't leave them and they are so comfortable. Who says you can't get good items for cheap?!

Throwback Thursday - University Research

WGSN Research

Colour Research

Vintage Lingerie

Today I thought I'd share with you some of the most inspiring pages from my university sketchbooks. As much as I love blogging about fashion and style, I have a deeper love for research and artistic inspiration, so I hope you will enjoy this as much as I do!

Many of the above images were for a project that I called 'Alter Ego'. The research was based around deformations in the body and how people have perceived the human body through art and design.
Early inspiration for this project came from life drawing classes while I was in school.
As much as I enjoyed the drawing I would always think of other artistic ways to interpret what I saw.

As a fashion design student, I took on the challenge of manipulating the human body, using this research, to create something completely different, complimenting problems that occur in the human body, to many of the planets population. It has always been something that fascinates me.

Other pages came as styling and colour ideas. The vintage underwear and 90's styling is something that ran through a lot of my research. It gave the completely strange ideas I had, some grounding, made them seem a little more realistic.

Some of the images are also taken from the WGSN website, which I was absolutely addicted too while I was at university. They always had really quirky explanations and imagery for where their inspiration came from. This is what inspired me to dig a little deeper when looking for content for my research.

How many of you are inspired by the weird and wonderful?
Let me know your inspirations :)

It feels a little like Autumn 💭

Top - H&M              Skirt - Zara

Jumper - Matalan

Boots - AllSaints

Shirt - AllSaints

So tonight I felt like it was time to sort through my wardrobe, which is a task I dread. The transition from season to season leaves you with the list of things you actually need! After spending most of my last few years as an eBay addict, I tend to leave spring/summer with less clothing than I had the previous year, as we don't need the chunky knits during the summer time!

This year, I decided, no more eBay! I now have more clothes in my wardrobes than ever before, although I did have so much enjoyment out of trying on all my outfits and getting myself all prepared for winter! I simply can not wait until I can layer up.

I have been left with a list of NEEDED items so I will be posting outfits through the blog every now and again for the next few weeks. I will also start posting wish lists of the items I am currently lusting after so stay tuned. Lots more to come!

Here I leave you with some snapshots of pieces I look forward to taking through to Autumn.

From St Xavier

As many of the people who know me know, I rarely accessorise enough.
I am just so incredibly picky when it comes to accessories and jewellery that I never end up buying anything.
Quality is something I always look for and generally, on the high street, I don't find anything that I feel is worth it's price... Plus a lot of the items just look the same.
I did, however, fall in love with a brand while at PURE at the beginning of August.
It is exactly the type of jewellery I love.
So Minimal, yet each piece is a statement that can be worn at any time.
The brand was FROM ST XAVIER. An Australian brand, created in Sydney.
As well as using sterling silver and plated brass, they use precious stones which gives their pieces the edge over anything similar seen on the high street.
Also for the quality you receive from this brand, the prices are perfect for anyone wanting to spend or anyone on a budget.

Here are some of the images from their most recent Lookbook -

I would just love to buy every piece, however here is a wish list of the pieces I lust after the most!

If you go down to the woods today...

We had an amazing few days away in Pembrokeshire. 4 days in a peaceful haven, just me and my guy, celebrating our 6 year anniversary. We stayed in the Bluestone resort right next to Oakwood, and about 15 minutes from Tenby Town. The resort was absolutely beautiful. We stayed right in the middle of the 'village' section of the resort and surrounding us were beautiful log cabins. It was such a beautiful place to walk around but it was so expensive! We spent an absolute fortune!

I have added some pictures of my outfit from the first day of our trip however these are the first #ootd that I have done so please don't judge too harshly!!

All in all we had an amazing time and I will be posting some photographs from our Tenby visit. Thankfully we had some lovely weather, we were so lucky!
